I don't like Halloween
For some people, the season of Fall rhymes with Halloween. The stores and streets become a display of horror movies paraphernalia. Skeleton, Zombies, Monsters, butchered hands, eyes, horrific scenes that people seem to enjoy.
I used to enjoy a little horror movie flick here and there. But as I grew older, and had children, I became highly sentized by chocking scenes and like to keep everything PG.
For that reason, I am not fond of Halloween at all. I don't celebrate it. I don't take part of it. There's nothing cute about this morbid celebration, but to each their own.
However, I love when the kids dress up, I love pumpkins craving and Autumn crafts. I love everything about Autumn except Halloween.
I recently delivered my little baby during the month of October, so now it also means birthday celebrations! YAY!
If you are like me, and you love the fall, you love crafts, this cute little craft is for you!
An adorable craft easy to make
This craft is so easy to make, you are going to be blown away. Don't you just hate when you want to sit with the kids to do a craft and bond with them, and you drove to the dollar store, got all the tools, sat with them, did all the steps and it looks nothing like the craft. Now your kids are not interested in the craft anymore and you're left with the clean-up and you began to question everything about life?
Okay, maybe not all that drama, but you catch my drift.
This craft is so easy to make, it will take less than 30 minutes. You sit, make the spider and get up. No hard core cleaning or difficult steps to follow through, just easy-peasy keep it breezy!
You probably have all the tools at home
Don't you just love it when you put your mind into doing a craft and you already have all the tools at home?
Originally, I wasn't planning on doing any crafts but when I saw that this craft required a lollipoo, some pipe cleaners, some googly eyes and some glue, I said to myself, "why not?"
I also I love reusing things and my son, who's a great pipe cleaner sculptor, have build-up a sizeable collection of pipe cleaners. Most of the have been used, twisted, cut and all that, but it's okay because the craft requires you to cut the pipe cleaners to mimic the spiders legs.
This craft is suitable for the little ones
A craft for the little ones to work on their dexterity
This craft requires several skills such as cutting with scissors, twisting and wrapping and gluing.
Although it is pretty easy for children upper elementary, (and still fun) it could be challenging for the smallest kiddos. For that reason, this is a great opportunity for the pre-schoolers and kindergartners to practice their fine motor skills and how to use scissors safely!
The children will be able to easily follow through your lead as they cut the the pipe cleaners and twist them around the lollipop sticks. On the other hand, make sure to be present when it comes time to cut the pipe cleaners and to glue the googly eyes. Because of the size of the eyes, smallest children could be tempted to eat them, so keep an "eye" on them!
These cute little spiders are perfect for party favors
As I mentioned before, I do not like Halloween but sure, they can used to give out candy on that night.
However, I believe these would be a great party favors! They can be customized infinitely with different colored pipe cleaners and various eyes expressions. I know my children ended up playing with their spiders fighting the urge to eat them!
They are the perfect size, they are cute and easy to make, and would be a perfect party favors for birthday parties, picnics, events (earth day) cookout (Thanksgiving) and any happy children gathering.
The spiders candies are wonderful for Aid celebrations and to give out to children as the spiders are special in Islam.
