How I struggled with Stubborn Acne as a teenager

I've struggled with body acne for years. When I say years, I really mean it, since the age of 12 years old. I remember going to my first dermatologist appointment in Paris when I was 13 and getting all my blackheads removed. My whole face was covered in blood. Yikes! Also my dermatologist gave me all these creams and washes and stuff to heal the acne that came along with puberty. My mom and I were so overwhelmed.  I had to follow up all these routines to get rid of my stubborn acne, on my back and chest and on my face, and quite frankly, I didn't follow through.

There were so many steps in my routine that I couldn't keep up with at that young age especially when it took so long for me to even see results. And sunscreen? No doctor ever mentioned that to me. The truth is, I didn't know much about skin then and didn't realize how committed I had to be, what my skin needed and the purpose of it all.

I just wanted to put whatever this cream was on my face and wake up the next day with no blackheads, and no pimples. Just clear skin. Well, it was not that easy and it took years for me to actually say I feel good in my skin.

I can happily say that most of my acne has been cured in my mid 20's. However, I still get pimples here and there, even in my mid 30's, and my chest and back are not exempt from the unpleasant, uninvited guests (the pimples).

A Sensitive, Reactive Skin that needs constant attention

At my age, my acne gets triggered, by random factors such as my cycles, my mood, sweat, laundry detergent...etc. You see, she (my skin) is sensitive, had a mind on her own and needs special treatment and love so she can shine.

Most importantly, the pimples come back when I slack off my routine.. So every day I must stay on top of it. I was not born with perfect, clear skin, I have to work hard to get it. That's how things are for me and I have learned to accept it.

The good news is that with consistency and the right products, I managed to keep my moody skin under control. I significantly improved the texture of my skin, and reduced my hormonal acne while keeping at bay sneaky blackheads and pimples!

With affordable products, simple and consistent routines, I was able to significantly improve the overall texture and health of my skin.

When it comes to my body acne, it's actually easier to deal with it because it's less sensitive that the skin of my face. Also, the lesser the better. The less products I use, the better my body and skin feels; and that's a general rule.

Simple, Efficient Two Step Body Skincare

You don't need a 10-step, expensive, complicated routine to have beautiful healthy skin. What matters is to try to understand what are your skin issues and what causes them. I cannot guarantee this skincare routine will work for you as it did for me, however, it's worth trying since these products are affordable and available everywhere.

If you've seen some of the content, then already you already know how much I love PanOxyl. I cannot, and I repeat, I cannot praise this face and body wash enough. That little bottle is the truth! It has removed stubborn acne that I brought with me from a trip to Tunisia (sweat is my skin's worst enemy) and it's my after workout-shower-staple.

PanOxyl is a wash that contains a Benzoyl Peroxyde, an antiseptic that removes the bacteria that cause pimples. It also comes in different strengths of 5% and 10%. You can use it up to twice a day and it's very effective in removing pimples and blackheads. I use the 10% PanOxyl as my skin is now used to it. Feel free to start with the lower percentage one. It did take my skin 3 weeks to get used to it, and up to two months of use to see results, but its worked for me! It's a staple in my skin care regimen, even my husbands uses it.

My second staple is Amlactin. There is no word to describe how much I love this lotion. Amlactin contains 15% lactic acid, an exfoliant that removes hyperpigmentation and has anti-aging affect. I use Amlactin lotion to reduce acne marks while helping with the rough texture of my overall skin. Let me tell you, it has worked! My skin has felt so much more smooth, it's crazy! The only complain that most people have about Amlactin is the smell. It doesn't contain fragrance so it has a very potent smell that some people have compared it to cat pee. I don't really smell cat pee, but it's not a very pleasant smell. However, it doesn't bother me, and the smell eventually goes away, so I'm not mad it.

I share with you my simple, affordable body skin care routine to remove body acne.

My routine to remove Body Acne for good.
